RECRUITMENT RULES AND INFORMATION TO THE CANDIDATES
Professor (Medical)
Age Limit : 50 Years
Qualification:
1. A Medical qualification included in the I or II scheduled or part II of the III schedule to the
IMC Act of 1956.
2. A Postgraduate qualification eg. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in
the respective discipline/subject.
And/or
3. M. Ch. For surgical and D.M. for medical superspecialties or qualification recognized
equivalent thereto.
Experience:
14 Years teaching/research experience in a recognized institution in the subject to speciality after
obtaining the qualification degree of MD/MS or 12 years after obtaining M.Ch/D.M. or
qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Out of which atleast 3 years experience as Additional Professor level or 6 years at Associate
Professor level.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journals.
Professor (Non-medical)
Age Limit : 50 Years
Qualification:
1. P.G. qualification e.g. Master degree, in the discipline/allied subject.
2. A doctorate degree in the concerned discipline from recognized University.
Experience:
14 years teaching/research/experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the
doctorate degree. Out of which at least 3 years experience at Additional Professor level or 6 years
at Associate Professor level.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journals.
Additional Professor (Medical)
Age Limit: 50 Years
Qualification:
1. A Medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or Part II of the III schedule to the
IMC Act of 1956.
2. A postgraduate qualifications e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent-thereto
in the respective discipline/subject.
And/or
3. M.Ch. for surgical and D.M. for medical superspecialities or qualification recognized
equivalent thereto.
Experience:
10 years teaching/research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of speciality after
obtaining the qualifying degree of MS/MD or 8 years after obtaining M.Ch./D.M. of qualification
recognized equivalent thereto. Out of which atleast 4 years teaching experience at Associate
Professor level.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journal.
Additional Professor (Non-medical)
Age Limit: 50 Years
Qualification:
1. A post graduate qualification e.g. Master Degree in the discipline speciality or equivalent.
2. A Doctorate degree like Ph. D. in the concerned speciality from a recognized university or a
recognized qualification equivalent – thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
Experience:
10 years teaching/research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the
doctorate degree. Out of which at least 4 years teaching experience at Associate Professor level.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journal.
Associate Professor (Medical)
Age Limit: 45 Years
Qualification:

Associate Professor (Non-medical)
Age Limit: 45 Years
Qualification:
1. A post graduate qualification e.g. Master Degree in the discipline speciality or equivalent.

Experience:
06 years teaching/research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the
doctorate degree. Out of which atleast 3 years teaching experience as Assistant Professor level.

Assistant Professor (Neurology)
Age Limit: 45 years
Qualification:
1. A medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or Part II of the III schedule of the
Indian Medical Council Act of 1956. (Candidates possessing the qualifications included in
Part-II of the III Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in the Section 13(3) of
the Act.)
2. DM in Neurology i.e., requisite recognized specialisation qualification in the subject or a
qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Assistant Professor (Medical)
Age limit: 45 years
Qualification:
1. A Medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or Part II of the III schedule to the
IMC Act of 1956.
2. A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in
the respective discipline/subject.
And/or
3. M.Ch. for surgical and D.M. for medical superspecialties or qualification recognized

Experience:
A. For General Disciplines: 03 years teaching/research experience in a recognized institution
in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS or
qualification equivalent thereto.
B. For Superspecialties Discipline: 01 years after obtaining M.Ch./D.M. or qualification
recognized equivalent thereto.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journal.
Assistant Professor (Non-medical)
Age limit: 45 years
Qualification:
1. Postgraduate qualification e.g. Master Degree in the discipline/ allied subject.
2. A doctorate degree/Ph.D of a recognized University in the respective discipline.
Experience:
03 years teaching/research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the
doctorate degree.
Desirable: Research/published work in indexed Journal.
Associate Professor (Psychiatric Nursing)
Age limit: Below 46 years
Qualification:
1. 1st or 2nd Class M. Sc. Nursing with specialty in Psychiatry Nursing and
2. Ph. D/D. Sc. in Nursing from recognized University/Institution
Experience:
Experience: 6 years teaching and /or research experience in a recognized institution/hospital in
the subject of specialty after obtaining Doctorate Degree. Out of which at lease 3 years teaching
experience at Assistant Professor level.
Assistant Professor (Psychiatric Nursing)
Age limit: Below 41 years.
Qualification:
1. 1st or 2nd class M. Sc. Nursing with specialty in Psychiatry Nursing and
2. Ph. D/D. Sc in Nursing from recognized University/Institution.
Experience:
Experience: 03 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution/hospital in
the subject of specialty after obtaining Doctorate Degree.
Desirable: Research/published work in the indexed Journal.
Nursing Tutor (Sister Tutor)
Age limit: Below 35 years
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100+GP5400
Qualification:
(i) Matriculate (ii) ‘A’ Gd. Certificate in Nursing from recognized Institute (iii) Diploma in Sister
Tutor Course or B. Sc. in Nursing (iv) Should be able to speak Hindi (v) preference will be given
to female candidate.
Assistant Nursing Tutor (Assistant Sister Tutor)
Age limit : Below 35 years
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800+GP4800
Qualification:
(i) Matriculate (ii) ‘A’ Gd. Certificate in Nursing from recognized Institute (iii) Diploma in Sister
Tutor Course or B. Sc. in Nursing (iv) Should be able to speak Hindi (v) preference will be given
to female candidate. (vi) Registered as Nurse or Midwife in any state Nursing Counsel.
Information to the Candidates
1. Complete prescribed application forms should be addressed to Director, IHBAS, Dilshad
Garden, Delhi-110 095.
2. There is no need to apply separately for posts shown in part ‘A’ & ‘B’ of the Advertisement.
3. Candidate applying for the posts mentioned in the advertisement may send application and
enclose a Demand Draft/Pay order for Rs. 1000/- for the post at Sl. No. 1 to 28 of Part ‘A’
& 1 to 8 of Part ‘B’ and Rs. 500/- for the post at Sl. No. 29 of Part ‘A’, drawn in favour
of Director, IHBAS, Delhi. The fee is non refundable. No fee is to be paid by SC/ST/Exservicemen/
PH candidates.
4. The cut off date for age, qualification, experience etc. will be 31.05.2013
5. The last date for submission for filled in applications will be 31.05.2013 except overseas and
North-East Region where the last date of receipt of filled in application will be 15.06.2013.
6. The application form shall be summarily rejected in case it is found incomplete in any respect
or is not accompanied by fee of appropriate value described above.
7. Institute reserves the right to increase/decrease, fill or not to fill any/all the vacancies.
8. Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward
Classes and PH candidates as per rules. SC & OBC certificate issued by the Authority of
Delhi Govt., only will be accepted.
9. Please send attested copies of all degree/diploma certificates, category certificate along-with
mark-sheet/grade/credit/transcripts and will be age as per High School/Higher Secondary
certificate etc. as may be necessary.
10. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
11. Post applied for should be super scribed on the envelope.
