SSC CGLS 2014 Syllabus : Read Out 

• Tier I : Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
• Tier -II : Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
• Tier -III : Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test and Skill Test (wherever applicable) /Document Verification.

Note : There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I. In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III for each wrong answer.

• Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination : 

 Tier –I of the Combined Graduate level Examination will be common for all categories of posts :- 

• Part - A. General Intelligence & Reasoning Max. Marks/ Questions - 50
• Part - B. General Awareness Max. Marks/ Questions - 50
• Part - C .Quantitative Aptitude Max. Marks/ Questions - 50
• Part - D. English Comprehension Max. Marks/ Questions - 50

Total Duration / Timing for General candidates - 2 Hours

• Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination : 

Tier-II of the Combined Graduate Level Examination -2014 will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice and will be conducted over a period of two days on 31st August, 2014 (Paper-I + II) & 30th August, 2014 (Paper-III).

• Paper No. I English Language & Comprehension Max. Marks - 200 Number of Questions - 100 -Duration - 2 Hours
• Paper No. II Quantitative Abilities Max. Marks - 200 Number of Questions - 100 Duration - 2 Hours 
• Paper No. III Statistics Max. Marks - 200 Number of Questions - 100 Duration - 2 Hours

NOTE : Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts .Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler.

Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data , Measures of Central Tendency- C , Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression , Probability Theory , Random Variable and Probability Distributions , Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference , Analysis of Variance,Time Series Analysis , Index Numbers
