Educational Requirements: (i) Master/s Degree in Social Work / Sociology / Applied Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Diploma or M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work from a recognized Institution. (iii) 2 years teaching/research experience as a Psychiatric Social Worker in a Mental Hospital, Child Guidance Clinic or Psychiatric Department of a General Hospital.

Essential Qualifications for posts at Sl.No.1: (Asst. Prof. of Clinical Psychology)
1. Masters Degree in Psychology of a recognized University or equivalent.
2. M.Phil (Medical & Social Psychology or Clinical Psychology) or Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology
(2 years course) from a recognized Institution or equivalent.
3. 2 years teaching/research experience as Clinical Psychologist in a Psychiatric Hospital, Psychiatric
Clinic, Child Guidance Clinic or Department of Psychiatry in a General Hospital.
(The essential 2 years teaching/research experience as Clinical Psychologist in a Psychiatric Hospital,
Psychiatric Clinic, Child Guidance Clinic or Department of Psychiatry in a General Hospital may be relaxed to
no experience as essential qualification at the discretion of Selection Committee if a person is found
otherwise suitable).
Desirable:
1. Ph.D in Clinical Psychology.
2. Research/published work in Indexed journals.
II. Essential Qualifications for posts at Sl.No.2: (Asst. Prof. of Psychiatric Social Work)

(i) Masters degree in Psychology of recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Psychology (2 years course) of recognized institution.
(iii) 2 years experience as Clinical Psychologist in a Mental Hospital, Child Guidance Clinic or Psychiatric
Deptt. of a General Hospital or as a teacher or research worker in the field of Clinical Psychology.
(The essential 2 years experience as Clinical Psychologist in a Mental Hospital, Child Guidance Clinic or
Psychiatric Deptt. of a General Hospital or as a teacher or research worker in the field of Clinical
Psychology shall be relaxed to no experience as essential qualification at the discretion of Selection
Committee if a person is found otherwise suitable).
Desirable:
(i) Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
(ii) Research Experience.
(iii) Conversant with Modern Techniques of Testing and Counseling.
(iv) Knowledge of Hindi and/or Bengali.
