SELECTION PROCESS:
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for written test to be held in Kolkata only.
• For the position of Trainee – Operator / Technician, Assistant Sub Inspector (Security), Nurse cum Midwife, Radiographer, Pharmacist, Laboratory Technician, Librarian, Security Officer and Medical Officer, selection will be made on the basis of written test and interview only. However, candidates appearing for the written test shall be shortlisted for appearing in the personal interview.
• For the positions of Assistant Manager – IT and Assistant Manager – Legal, selection will be made on the basis of written test, group discussion and interview. However, candidates appearing for the written test shall be shortlisted for appearing in the group discussion and personal interview.
• For Assistant Teacher, selection will be made on the basis of written test, class demo and personal interview. However, candidates appearing for written test shall be shortlisted for appearing in Class Demo and Personal Interview.
• For Stenographer position selection will be made on the basis of written test, trade test (short hand & computer proficiency) and personal interview. However, candidates appearing for the written test shall be shortlisted for appearing in the trade test (shorthand & Computer Proficiency test) followed by Personal Interview.
Besides, final offer of appointment shall be made upon review of reports of medical fitness test of the candidate.
HOW TO APPLY:

2. The candidates can access the online application form at www.wbpdcl.co.in . Online registrations will be open from 10:00 hrs of 07.08.2013 to 17.00 hrs of 06.09.2013.
3. All correspondence with candidates shall be done through E-mail only. All information regarding examination schedule / download of Admit Card / Interview Call letters, etc. shall be provided through E-mail only or through the WBPDCL website. Further mentioned, that no hardcopy mailing of Admit Card / Interview Call letters shall be done by the WBPDCL. Responsibility of receiving, downloading and printing of Admit Card / Call Letter shall be that of the candidate. The WBPDCL will not be responsible for any loss of E-mail sent due to invalid / wrong E-mail ID provided by the candidate or delivery of E-mails to SPAM / BULK mail folder etc.
4. Screening and selection will be based on the details provided by the candidate hence it is necessary that the applicants should furnish only accurate, full and correct information. Furnishing of wrong / false information will be a disqualification and The WBPDCL will NOT be responsible for any consequence arising out of furnishing of such wrong / false information.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Before applying the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement.
2. Applicants are required to apply through online only at www.wbpdcl.co.in website. No manual / paper application will be entertained.
3. Payment of Application Fees of ` 300 (Rupees Three Hundred only) should be made only through Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque drawn in favour of ‘THE WEST BENGAL POWER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED’, payable at Kolkata. No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
4. Having successfully registered oneself at the WBPDCL (www.wbpdcl.co.in) website does not entitle one to be eligible to appear for the written test. Candidates need to download the ADMIT CARD which shall only entitle one to appear for the written test.
5. The printout of registration slips should not be tampered with. In case of any overwriting or tampering of registration slip, the candidature of the candidate shall be rejected.
6. Candidates should retain a copy of their registration slip for future reference.
7. SC / ST / OBC / PWD / EC / MSP for the purpose of this notification means applicants belonging to ‘Scheduled Caste’ / ‘Scheduled Tribe’ / ‘Other Backward Classes’ / ‘Person with Disability’ / ‘Exempted Category’ and ‘Meritorious Sportsperson’ category candidates respectively.
8. Date of birth will be taken as that mentioned in the Birth Registration Certificate issued by competent authority / Certificate / Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination. No other proof of date of birth shall be accepted.
9. WBPDCL Departmental candidates / ‘Contractor workers’ related to WBPDCL are also required to APPLY ONLINE.
10. Candidates applying as ‘Contractor workers’ related to the WBPDCL shall in addition to applying online be required to submit a Certificate as per Annexure X, along with copy of the system generated Registration ID duly certified by the concerned Contractor to the related site HR&A department of WBPDCL. Applicable caste certificate (if any) is also to be attached for determining category specific reservation.
11. Upon registering oneself at the www.wbpdcl.co.in website, candidates are requested to take a print out of the system generated Registration ID and send a copy of the same along with Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque (as applicable), mentioning the Registration No., Name of the candidate & position applied for at the back of the DD / Bankers cheque, along with copy of Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC) / PWD / Meritorious Sports Person certificate (if applicable) as issued by the respective Competent Authority in a sealed envelope subscribing the name of the post applied for addressed to The Executive Director (HR) - WBPDCL, Bidyut Unnayan Bhaban, Plot No.3/C, LA – Block, Sector – III, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 098, only by ordinary post or hand delivery at the box kept at the Corporate Office, WBPDCL within 17.30 hrs of 13.09.2013. No birth certificate / certificates of educational qualifications are required to be attached with the registration slip prior to issuance of ADMIT CARDS.
12. The exempted category (EC) candidates sponsored by Directorate of Employment Exchange, should also submit a copy of the Employment Exchange Card of Exempted Category Cell along with the system generated registration slip to the Executive Director (HR) - WBPDCL, Bidyut Unnayan Bhaban, Plot No.3/C, LA – Block, Sector – III, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 098, only by ordinary post or hand delivery at the box kept at the Corporate Office, WBPDCL along with registration slip latest by 17.30 hrs of 13.09.2013.
Candidates whose names have been sponsored as ‘Exempted Category’ candidates by the Directorate of Employment Exchange shall only be considered for ‘Exempted Category’ reservation. All candidates sponsored by the Employment Exchanges are required to Apply Online only (www.wbpdcl.co.in ) paying requisite application fees as applicable, if any.
13. Candidature of registered candidates is liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or even after recruitment or joining, if any information provided by the candidate is found false or is found not to be in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
14. Request for change of mailing address / examination center / category / discipline / qualification once declared in the online application form will not be entertained. However, The WBPDCL reserves the right to cancel / add any examination center or alter the date of examination, if situation so warrants.
15. The applicant(s) working in Government / Semi-Government / PSU(s) / Autonomous bodies should produce the NOC (No Objection Certificate) issued by his / her employer at the time of interview without which he / she shall not be allowed for interview.
16. No TA or other expenses will be admissible to the candidates appearing for the written examination / interview etc.
17. Any canvassing or personal follow up with an intention of inducing the process of recruitment by and on behalf of any candidate shall lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.
18. The WBPDCL reserves the right to withdraw / cancel the advertisement / recruitment process if circumstances so warrant without assigning any reason thereof.
19. In case of any dispute, the decision of the WBPDCL management shall be final.
20. In case of any dispute, the legal jurisdiction shall be that of the Hon’ble High Court, Kolkata.
