VACANCY CIRCULAR
The Department of Science and Technology proposes to fill up the following post, as
per details given below:-
1. Name of the post - Radio Mechanic - cum - Operator
2. Classification - General Central Services, Group 'C', (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial )
3. No. of Posts (Subject to
change)
- One (UR)
4. Pay Scale - Pay Band-I of `5200-20200/-Plus Grade pay of `2400/-
5. Method of appointment - Direct Recruitment
6. Age Limit
- 18 to 25 years (Age relaxation to Departmental candidates and
Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes as admissible under Rules,
amended from time to time.)
7. Eligibility and other
qualifications
- Essential:-
(1) Diploma from a recognised Technical Institute in Radio Engineering/
Telecommunications; or
(2) Certificate from a recognised Industrial Training Institute in one of the
above subjects with two years experience of repairing, maintenance
and installation of wireless/electrical equipment.
8. Period of Probation - Two Years
9. Job responsibilities K- eep all conference systems in order.
(i) Maintain & Operate audio visual system of department.
(ii) Assist on procurement of electronics items.
(iii) Maintain stock register for all audio video facilities.
(iv) Ensure booking of venues for meeting/ conference/social
event. Video and telephone conference is done correctly and the
required equipment and technician are available on timely manner.
(v) Ensure that prior to any conduct of any meeting/
conference/social event, the required physical arrangements audio
visual and other requirement of technical units are discussed and
finalised, so that the event is conducted smoothly. Prepare lay outs of
the meeting venues, as required.
(vi) Ensure that all office and conference electrical equipment
installed is well maintained and function at all times. Review the state
of equipment installed and takes timely action to update/replace the
same when necessary.
(vii) Attend contract review meetings for award of contracts.
(viii)Additional work assigned by the controlling officer.

2. Persons serving in Government / Semi Government / Public Sector Undertakings
should apply through proper channel. A Copy of "NOC" from their present employer should
be attached with the application.
3. Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain paper in the prescribed Curriculum
Vitae Proforma (Annexure-I). Applicants should enclose (i) attested photocopies of
certificates in proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, etc. (ii) two latest identical
passport size photographs (one photo to be pasted on the application and other to be
attached with the application. The certificates and photo on the application should be
attested by a Gazetted Officer.
4. Incomplete application, application with incorrect information or misrepresented
facts, application received in a format other than specified in Annex.-I, application without
relevant certificate and photographs will be rejected.
5. The complete application (Annex.I) should be sent to the address of "Under
