SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (SSA) is a National Programme of the Government of India and State Governments for universalisation of elementary education. Details of SSA Programme are available on website: www.ssa.nic.in
The services of various categories of Consultants are required on contract basis for the implementation of SSA initially for a period of one year for TSG-SSA offices located at N.E. Cell, Guwahati and New Delhi, as per details given below:
A: REQUIREMENT OF CONSULTANTS FOR OFFICE LOCATED AT
NORTH-EASTERN CELL, GUWAHATI

1. 02 years post qualification experience in any of the following areas (i) designing and implementing curricular and pedagogical interventions for quality improvement in schools, including development of teaching learning material, (ii) training of teachers and development of teachers training modules, (iii) educational research.
2. Knowledge of computers, with ability to collect and analyze databases.
Desirable:
Experience at grassroot level in schools.

Right to Education (RTE)
Senior Consultant
(01 Post)
Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences (Education, Political Science, Geography, Economics, History, Psychology, Arts, Sociology, Philosophy etc.), Science, Public Administration, Planning, Business Administration, Human Resources from a Recognized University.
Desirable:
Ph.D in the field of Education and allied field.
Essential
10 years post qualification experience in working with groups of out of School Children or any other deprived category on National/ State level. The incumbent should have thorough knowledge of Educational Management, latest development taken place in the field of Education with special reference to Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, its salient features, implementation of RTE on National basis & other issues connected with RTE.
Knowledge of computer with ability to collect and analyze database.
Desirable:
(i) Experience of working with government school system.
(ii) Experience of designing & implementation of early grade reading & writing programme on a large scale.
(iii) Experience of designing and implementing students’ assessment especially around early reading, writing and mathematics.
(iv) Designing and implementing teacher training.
(v) Understanding of research around early reading, writing and mathematics.

Research & Evaluation
Senior Consultant
(01 Post)
A Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized University.
05 years Post Qualification Experience in conduct of Educational Research, Management of research projects, evaluation and monitoring of research projects/studies. A person with sound knowledge of statistics, research, methodology and computers will be preferred.
Knowledge of computer with ability to collect and analyze database.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
2. The envelope should be superscripted with the name of position applied in Block Letters. Also please write the name of office for which applied i.e. whether for N.E. Cell, Guwahati or New Delhi.
3. The work of consultants involves providing relevant technical support and assistance at National and State Levels with extensive travel, documentation and presentation of information.
4. SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates should enclose attested photocopy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority.
5. Candidates working in Government organizations/PSE must route their application through proper channel if their departmental rules requires so and produce NOC at the time of interview.
6. Excellent skills in oral and written communication/expression and proficiency in computer operations for applicants is absolutely essential for all the posts.
7. The age limits for consultants shall not be more than 65 years as on 01.07.2013. However, this age limit may be relaxed, for a period not exceeding 03 years, for applicants possessing outstanding achievements.
8. Experience may be relaxed in case of candidates otherwise found possessing adequate work experience in the related fields/disciplines.
9. Appointment of the Consultant will be for a period of one year and will be purely on contract basis. However, contract may be renewed as per requirement.
10. The place of posting of the Consultant will be at N.E. Cell office in Guwahati (for the four posts meant for N.E. Cell, Guwahati) & at New Delhi (for the two posts meant for TSG-SSA, New Delhi). It may please be noted that candidates applying for N.E. Cell, Guwahati before applying may ensure that candidate is willing to join the office at N.E. Cell, Guwahati as these posts are not transferable to Delhi under any circumstances and candidate may be required to visit & liaise extensively with all the North-Eastern States/All India basis.
