General terms & conditions for Visiting Specialists:-
a) The engagement shall initially be for a period of 1 year. The same may be
renewed based upon satisfactory performance.
b) The duties include attending to outdoor, indoor and emergency patients/
performing operations independently, etc.
c) Free board and lodging at KoPT Guest House, Haldia and free transportation by
car between Kolkata (within municipal limits) and Haldia will be provided.
d) Duration of visit at HDC Hospital and other terms & conditions will be informed
at the time of interview.
General terms & conditions for Medical Specialists (on contract):-
i) The Medical Specialists will be posted at KoPT Hospital at Haldia.
ii) The engagement will be for a period of 1 (one) year. However, on expiry
of the contract, HDC/KoPT reserves the right to enter into a fresh contract
for such period and on such terms as may be mutually agreed upon by the
parties.
iii) The selected candidate shall be responsible to carry out medical treatment/
investigation, both indoor and outdoor, including conducting operations,
as required. He / She shall have to perform any other work as may be
assigned by the Medical Superintendent.
iv) The assignment is residential and, accordingly, the selected candidate shall
be required to stay in the accommodation (unfurnished) provided by HDC
/ KoPT free of rent at Haldia. Electricity charges shall have to be borne by
the selected candidate, at actuals. Alternatively, free Guest House
accommodation (single) may be provided.
v) The selected candidate will be provided with residential telephone, as
applicable.
vi) The office of the selected candidate shall be at the Port Hospital of Haldia
Dock Complex at Haldia Township, Dist-Purba Medinipur-721 607.
vii) The selected candidate shall be required to work on full time basis for 6
days in a week and will normally be entitled to a weekly off day. For work
on any weekly off day / declared National Holiday in exigency, the
candidates will be granted a compensatory day of rest conveniently in lieu
thereof and he will not be entitled to any other compensation, monetary or
otherwise, for the same. The selected candidate shall also have to attend to
emergency calls, as per requirement, beyond their normal duty hours,
without any extra remuneration for the same.
viii) The selected candidate will be entitled to 15 days’ leave in a year (12
months from the date of engagement and proportionate in case of shorter
period of engagement) which shall be availed of with prior approval. For
any absence, in excess of 15 days, pro-rata deduction will be made from
the consolidated remuneration.

ix) Additionally, sick leave, to the extent of 10 days in a year (12 months’
from the date of engagement and proportionate in case of shorter period of
engagement) on illness shall be allowed without any deduction from the
remuneration on the basis of certification from HDC Medical Officer.
Intimation of sickness should be reported to the Medical Superintendent
forthwith in writing together with the certificate of illness from a
Registered Medical Practitioner, in addition to verbal intimation over
phone.
x) The selected candidate will be entitled to indoor & outdoor medical
facilities as are available in HDC Hospital for self & spouse only.
However, no re-imbursement for medicine / medical articles purchased
from outside, diagnostic tests done outside or treatment received outside
will be allowed.
xi) On official tour outside headquarters of Haldia Dock Complex, the
selected candidate would be entitled to TA/DA as applicable to the regular
incumbents in the post of Sr. Medical Officer.
xii) Medical Superintendent, HDC will be the Reporting Officer.
xiii) The selected candidate will be entitled to avail the canteen facility of HDC.
xiv) The selected candidate shall be responsible for the charge and care of
HDC / KoPT’s money, goods and stores and all other property that may be
entrusted on him and he will be accountable for the same.
xv) The contractual engagement may be terminated by giving one month’s
notice from either side. However, the engagement is terminable with 24
hours’ notice for unsatisfactory performance and for any act considered to
be derogatory / detrimental to the interest of HDC / KoPT.
xvi) The selected candidate would have to submit character / antecedent
certificate in the prescribed proforma upon their selection.
Instructions to Candidates
(a) Candidates are requested to register over telephone with Manager (P&IR)
(94340 63160) / Medical Superintendent (9434734011) prior to 10:30 a.m.
on July 20, 2013.
(b) Candidates must appear for the Walk-In-Interview with an application
furnishing detailed bio-data, including name, date of birth, permanent
address, address for communication, contact phone number, e-mail
address, nationality, religion, details of educational and professional
qualification, details of experience and post held (indicating name of the
employer, salary drawn and present pay scale) or any other relevant
information, with one recent passport size photograph and certified photo
copies of relevant certificates / testimonials.
(c) Please note that the said Walk - In - Interview for the said selection will be
held at the office of the Dy.Chairman, Kolkata Port Trust, from 11a.m. to
1p.m. on July 20, 2013 and for which the candidates must report to the
officer in-charge at the aforesaid venue at 10.30 a.m. on the said date.
