Applications are invited from Indian citizens in the prescribed forms [Price of forms: Rs.3000(General Category), Rs.2500(Reserved Category) for PB – Rs 37,400-67,000 with GP Rs 10,000; Rs 1500(General Category), Rs 1000(Reserved Category) for PB – Rs 15,600-39,100 with GP Rs 6,000 & Rs 8,000] obtainable from the Sales Counter, Rajbati Office on all working days (Monday to Friday) from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. or from our University Website : www.buruniv.ac.in Downloaded form shall accompany with a Crossed Demand Draft or a cash challan of the University cash counter of requisite price drawn in favour of the Finance Officer of the University for the following posts. Applicants must have the minimum qualifications & experience as per relevant latest recruitment rules for the Officers in the State-aided Universities. Completed applications in the prescribed forms along with Photo copies of two sets of all credentials must reach the office of the Registrar by 22.03.2013 (Through proper channel, in case of already employed candidates). No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview. It should be noted that possession of minimum eligibility shall not confer any right to be called for interview. (1) University Librarian (Pay Band Rs 37,400 – 67,000 plus Academic Grade Pay Rs 10,000) : One post (UR) : Qualification: (i) Minimum Eligibility Criteria – (a) A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and consistently good academic record as set out in UGC Regulations, 2010. (b) At least 13 (thirteen) years of experience as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 (eighteen) years of experience as a College Librarian. (c) Evidence of innovative library services and organization of published work. (ii) Desirable Experience – (a) A M Phil/Ph D degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives and Manuscripts Keeping.
(2) Deputy Librarian (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Academic Grade Pay Rs 8,000) : One post (UR) : Qualification: (i) Minimum Eligibility Criteria – (a) A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation

with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and consistently good academic record. (b) At least 5 (five) years of experience as Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian. (c) Evidence of innovative library services and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of Library. (ii) Desirable Experience – (a) A M Phil/Ph D degree in Library Science/Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscripts Keeping/ Computerization of Library.
(3) Deputy Controller of Examinations (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 8,000): One post(SC) : Qualification: (a) Essential – (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale wherever grading system is followed. (ii) At least 10 years’ of experience as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6000 and above with experience in educational administration in Academic Institutions like University, Research Establishment and/or in an institute of higher learning of which 5 (five) years must be in a University or in an Institute of Post Graduate Study. OR Comparable experience in research establishments and other institutions of higher learning. OR 10 (ten) years’ administrative experience, of which 5 years shall be as Assistant Registrar or equivalent post. (iii) Age not less than 35 years. Relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(4) Assistant Registrar (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): One post (SC) : Qualification: (a) Essential – (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. (ii) At least 10 years’ of experience in a Supervisory capacity in a University or a Research Institute or a Government/Quasi Government organization. (iii) At least 5 (five) years’ administrative experience. (iv) Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(5) Assistant Controller of Examinations (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): Two posts (SC-1, UR-1) : Qualification: (a) Essential – (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is

followed. (ii) At least 10 years’ of experience in a Supervisory capacity in a University or a Research Institute or a Government/Quasi Government organization. (iii) At least 5 (five) years’ administrative experience. (iv) Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(6) Accounts Officer (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): Two posts (SC-1, UR-1) : Qualification: (a) Essential – (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree in Commerce/Finance with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. (ii) 5 (five) years of working experience in Supervision, Control, Planning and Management of Accounts and Audit, preparation of budget in Government, Quasi Government or University or Commercial Establishment. (iii) Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates. (b) Desirable – (i) Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or Business Management Degree.
(7) Assistant Librarian (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Academic Grade Pay Rs 6,000) : Two posts (SC-1, UR-1) : Qualification: (i) Minimum Eligibility Criteria – (a) A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of Library. (b) Qualifying in the national level eligibility test conducted for the purpose of UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. (c) However, candidates who are, or have been awarded Ph D degree in accordance with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph D Degree) Regulations 2000 shall be exempted in the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment or appointment of Assistant University Librarian.
(8) Assistant Engineer (Electrical) (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): One post (UR) : Qualification: (a) Essential – (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. (ii) At least 5 years’ experience in position involving Supervision, Control, Planning of electrical work under Government/Quasi

Government organization or in University and such other institutions. (iii) The requirement of Bachelor’s Degree may be waived in the case of AMIE with at least 15 years’ experience as Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in a Government/Quasi Government/University/Institute of higher learning. (iv) Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(9) Programmer (Research Service Centre) (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): One post (UR) : Qualification: (a) Essential – Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Technology/Computer Sc. & Engg/Computer Application/Information Technology with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed & at least 5 years’ experience under Government/Quasi Government organization or in University and such other institutions . Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(10) Instrumentation Engineer (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,000): One post (UR) : Qualification: (a) Essential – First Class Master’s degree in the branch of Instrumentation/Electronics of Engineering & Technology. (b) Desirable – Teaching, research industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization. Age not below 30 years but relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
(11) Director, DDE (Contractual) : One post : - (a) Essential : (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade. (ii) At least 15 years experience in academic Institutions like University/College or in an Institute of Higher learning of which 5 years must be in high level administration in a University or in an Institute of Post-graduate study. (b) Desirable : (i) A Doctorate Degree or published research work of merit. (ii) High level administrative experience in a Government or Quasi-Government organization or a good background in administration and management in Distance Education. Retired persons below the age of 64 years may also apply.
(12) Senior Scientific Officer(SSO) for USIC (Pay Band Rs 15,600 – 39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 8,000) : One post (UR)* : Qualification: (a) Essential – Ph D in Science/Technology or ME/M Tech in Instrumentation/Electronics or related

subjects with at least 60% marks or equivalent Grade at Masters level with good academic record. (b) 8 (eight) years experience in academic institution/a reputed Laboratory/Industry as Scientific Officer or equivalent grade in relevant subjects. (c) Desirable – Research and Development work in Electronics/Analytical Instrumentation.
UR-Unreserved; SC-Schedule Caste. *NB: Those who have applied in response to previous Advertisement No. 3/2011-2012 dated 17th May, 2012 need not apply afresh. However, they can submit their up-dated bio-data, if any. Note:
1) Eligible in service internal candidates may apply to the post of Assistant Registrar and equivalent posts.
2) In the case of promotion to the post of Assistant Registrar and equivalent posts, the Educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment need not be insisted upon but only those who are at least graduates should be eligible for promotion.
3) Qualification of Master’s Degree may be relaxed in the case of candidates with at least 7 years’ experience as Superintendent or in equivalent post in a University. In such case the performance records of such candidates for 7 years will also be examined.
4) For the posts of University Librarian, Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian: (a) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) may be considered while deciding on the selection criterion by the University.
5) A relaxation of 5% in the marks may be provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-able (physically as well as visually) categories.
