Age Limit: For the post of Senior Resident, the upper age limit is 33 years for candidates who have
completed their post-graduation diploma & 35 years for candidates who have completed their
postdoctoral degree. The age will be reckoned as on 31/03/2013. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC
& 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible. For the post of Specialist on contract basis upper age
limit is not exceeding 45 years for Full time & 60 years for Part time as on 31/03/2013.
Qualification: MBBS with PG Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty from a recognized
university in the relevant field for the post of S.R. & for the post of specialist PG Degree/Diploma in
concerned specialty from recognized university with 3 years/ 5 years working experience after PG
Degree/ Diploma respectively. The candidates must have valid MCI registration.
Monthly emoluments: Senior Residents Pay – Rs. 18,750/- Grade Pay Rs.6,600/-, NPA, DA, HRA &
other allowances as applicable to Central Government servant of equivalent grade pay and as
specifically revised from time to time. The total monthly emoluments including all allowances will be
approximately Rs. 64,500/-. PART TIME (only in case of Specialists) (2 Sessions of 2 Hrs each, 6
days a week), a consolidated amount of Rs. 40,000/- is payable besides an amount of Rs. 8,000/- for
emergency calls, on giving a written undertaking. Full Time (only in case of Specialist) the pay will be
as for the posts of Senior Residents.

Other Terms & Conditions
1. The tenure is for a maximum period of 3 years in case of Senior Residents including any
service rendered by the candidates as Senior Resident on regular or on adhoc basis, in
any institution. The initial engagement will be for a period of 1 year, extendable upto 3
years, on annual basis, subject to satisfactory performance and conduct. The tenure is 1
year or till regular appointment to the post of specialists and extendable beyond 1 year
on discretion of the competent authority.
2. The selected candidates, for the post of SRs will have to furnish a DD/BPO for an
amount of Rs. 30,000/-(Rupees Thirty thousands only)drawn in favour of “ESIC A/c
No. 1” payable on par at Bengaluru, towards security deposit. No deposit is payable by
the selected candidates for the post of specialists.
3. The selected candidate for the post of SR's will have to execute an agreement on a stamp
paper of face value of Rs.10/-incorporating the terms & conditions as provided by this
office.
4. The engagement is purely on temporary basis & the candidates will have no claim on
regularization of their service in the hospital.
5. The selection is subject to the candidates proving their Medical fitness & verification of
their Character & Antecedents.
6. Private practice is strictly not allowed as the selected candidates will be in receipt of
Non practicing allowance. If found guilty, suitable action as provided under the law
will be initiated, besides the liability for forfeiting the security deposit & being
amenable for immediate termination from the contract service.
7. Leave admissible as per applicable rules.
8. Any absence from work for a period of 15 days without prior permission of the
competent authority will amount to voluntary abandonment of engagement, automatic
termination & unconditional forfeiture of the security deposit, where paid.
9. No TA/DA is payable to the candidates either for appearing for the walk in interviews or
for joining the residency/ specialist service.
10. The Corporation will not provide any hostel accommodation/quarters/ uniform/personal
equipment, etc.
11. Selected candidates should join within 10 days from the date of receipt of their selection
order. No extension of time will be accorded under any circumstances.
12. The decision of the selection board will be final on all aspects of selection and no further
correspondence will be entertained under any circumstances.
