Additional Note:
* The candidates without Ph.D degree who have applied for the posts of Assistant Professors will be considered for appointment on contract for a maximum period of 5 years, renewable on year to year basis evaluation or till the candidate acquires Ph.D degree, whichever is earlier. The Candidate will be absorbed in regular cadre of Assistant Professor after completion of Ph.D. The contract will be renewable every year on the conditions of good performance in teaching, good conduct and satisfactory progress in Ph.D work. They would be in regular pay scale as applicable to Assistant Professor and shall be eligible for allowances DA/HRA/Transport Allowance as per GoI norms, as well as annual increment.
Academic reimbursements and incentives:
In addition to normal pay and allowances as applicable to the central Govt. employees stationed at Aizawl, following additional incentives are also available to the faculty members:-
1. Full funding for attending national/international conference either for presenting a paper or chairing session as per Institute guidelines.
2. Financial assistance up to Rs. 3.00 lakhs in 3 years under Professional Development Fund.
3. Reimbursement of telephone and data card charges.
4. The relocation allowance limits up to Rs. 50,000/- towards economy class air fare for self and family and transportation of belongings or actual whichever is lesser, is reimburshible on submission of bills.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION
1. The application form shall not be supplied on postal request. The candidates are advised to download the same from our website. The duly completed application form along with the enclosures shall be sent by speed/registered post to The Director, National Institute of

Technology, Mizoram, Chaltlang Dawrkawn, Aizawl: Mizoram – 796012. In addition, applicants are required to submit filled in application form through institute e-mail also.

3. Those who have applied earlier with reference to Advt. No. NIT-MZ/R-ASP-AP-NF/01/2012 dated 3rd May 2012 will have to apply again in the light of modified essential qualification, experience etc. given in this advertisement. However they need not have to pay the application fee.
4. The date for determining eligibility of candidates in every respect shall be the closing date for receipt of applications.
5. Candidates desirous of applying for more than one discipline/ post should submit separate application form.
6. The Institute has the right to set higher norms than minimum while short listing, taking into account the specific requirements of the individual departments. The short listing norms may not be uniform across the departments of the Institute and shall be binding on the applicants. The decision of the institute related to all matters pertaining to the recruitment shall be final and binding on the applicants. The list of short listed candidates will be displayed on the Institute website.
7. The posts advertised are tentative. The institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts to be filled and to shortlist the candidates to be called for interview. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification and experience requirements does not entitle any candidate to be called for interview.
The institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised, without assigning any reason whatsoever.
8. All qualification, experience and preferred age limit will be considered as on 9th April 2013 i.e. the last date of submission of application forms.
9. Higher starting pay /and /or AGP may be offered to deserving candidates on recommendation of the selection committee at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
10. Ph. D. is compulsory for Sciences and Humanities disciplines.
11. All belated/incomplete applications which are not in prescribed form / not in original form / without relevant supporting enclosures may be out rightly rejected. Institute will not be responsible under any circumstances for any sort of postal delay/loss.
12. Short listing criteria may be higher and narrower than those advertised.
13. Persons serving in Govt. / Semi Govt. / PSUs / Universities / Educational Institutions should send their applications either THROUGH PROPER CHANNEL or should furnish a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the time of interview. They can, however, send advance copy.

14. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview.
15. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the application form should be with a copy of the relevant caste certificate. For OBC candidates, Non-Creamy Layer status of the preceding year issued by the competent authority empowered for the purpose, as a proof in support of the caste claim is required. No other certificate will be accepted as sufficient proof.
16. The persons with disability (PWD) viz. or Orthopaedically Handicapped shall be required to produce medical certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities for the purpose of employment. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the disability shall only be eligible for the benefit of reservation, if any and other relaxations as permissible under the rules.
17. Reservation policy for faculty positions at entry level (i.e. Assistant Professor) will be applicable as per the directives of the Department of Higher & Technical Education, Ministry of the HRD, Government of India.
18. Experience less than six months in any organization will not be considered in total experience.
19. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays or bouncing of email, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being short listed/interview or selection. The candidates are advised to keep visiting our web site regularly.
20. Original documents will have to be produced at the time of interview.
21. Application in the prescribed format completed in all respects along with attested copies of relevant testimonials, certificates should be submitted, along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 200/- for General Candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PH drawn in favour of The Director, NIT Mizoram payable at SBI BAWNGKAWN BRANCH, AIZAWL: MIZORAM, to “The Director, National Institute of Technology- Mizoram, Chaltlang Dawrkawn, Aizawl: Mizoram– 796012”, on or before 9th April 2013. The envelope containing the application be superscribed as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ……….. DEPARTMENT………………”.
22. The short-listed candidates will be communicated the schedule for interview by e-mail or mobile sms. This information will also be placed on the Institute website.
23. The selected candidates will have to join within one month from the date of Notification.
24. Legal disputes, if any, with NIT Mizoram, will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Aizawl Court only.

5. Last date for receipt of Applications is 9th April 2013. Applications received after the last date may be summarily rejected.
6. The list of short listed candidates will be displayed on NIT Mizoram website.
7. Incomplete application forms and applications without photograph, signature, experience certificate, documentary evidence in connection with the claim made etc. will be summarily rejected.
