Educational Qualifications: Candidates should possess M.Sc. Biochemistry with minimum of 55% and one/ two years of research training in Protein Purification and Characterization for SRF post, M.Sc., Bio Chemistry with a minimum of 55% with NET-JRF qualified is preferred.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on the performance in interview.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates may send their applications in  duplicate with complete bio data of the candidate on plain paper accompanied with the photo copies of necessary two reference letters/ certificates/ papers published, through post  to Dr. Shashikala R. Inamdar, Principal Investigator, CSIR Project, Department of Biochemistry, Karnataka University, Dharwad-580003, on or before 11-03-2013. A Microsoft Word or PDF file need to be sent to the principal investigator through email.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF)/Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work
in the CSIR sponsored Major Collaborative Research Project between Dept. of Biochemistry, Karnatak University,
Dharwad and National Centre for Cell Sciences, Pune, (CSIR sanction letter No. 27(0279/12/EMR-II dated
05.11.2012).
Title of the project: “Exploring the potential of RBL, a cytotoxic lectin from Rhizoctonia
bataticola for ovarian cancer research: molecular signaling involved in RBL
mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells by in vitro and in vivo studies”
Position and duration: JRF/ SRF; 36months or as and when project terminates.
Qualification for SRF: M.Sc., Biochemistry with a Minimum of 55% and one/two years of research
training in protein purification and characterization, and candidates with
experience in cell biology techniques preferred.
(In case suitable SRF is not found, the position for JRF will be considered)
JRF: M.Sc., Biochemistry with a Minimum of 55% with NET-JRF qualified is
preferred.
Fellowship amount: SRF: Rs. 14,000/- or 18,000/- per month with HRA.
(As per the CSIR guidelines) JRF: Rs. 12,000/- or 16,000/- per month with HRA.
Application in duplicate with complete Bio-Data of the candidate on plain paper accompanied with the
photocopies of necessary two reference letters/certificates/papers published should reach Dr. Shashikala R.

-580 003, on or before 11th March 2013, by post. A Microsoft Word or PDF file need to be sent to the Principal
Investigator through E-mail. The short listed candidates will be informed to attend an interview either through phone
or by e-mail. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the interview.
