Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess Ph.D., with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch/ discipline with a very good academic record throughout. Candidate should have demonstrated research and development capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conference proceedings/ patents etc.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram is an autonomous Institute under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Institute is located at Vandalur-Kelambakkam Road, Chennai-600127. Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following post:
1. Assistant Professor (3 Posts) (SC – 2 Posts, ST – 1 Post)
Area: Computer / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering / Engineering Design
Ph.D., with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch/discipline with a very good academic record throughout.
Candidate should have demonstrated research and development capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conference proceedings/ patents etc.
Upper Age Limit: Age Preferably below 40 Yrs
EMOLUMENTS:
Pay band (PB-3): Rs.15600-39100/- with AGP: Rs.6,000/-
Minimum pay in the pay band: Rs.20140/- + AGP Rs.6,000/-
Gross Emoluments per month as on January 2013 including AGP, DA, TA and HRA is approximately: Rs.58000/-
Other Benefits:
• For candidates joining the Institute from abroad - Reimbursement of one-way economy class airfare for travel subject to the condition that they serve the Institute for a minimum period of 3 years.
• Startup Grant of up to Rs.5 lakhs for carrying out research project of 3 years duration.
• Reimbursement of telephone bills up to Rs.750/p.m.
• A Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs.3 lakhs for every block period of 3 years (Rupees one lakh per year) is made available to every member of the faculty on reimbursable basis to meet the expenses for participation in national and international conferences, payment of membership fee of professional bodies and contingent expenses.

• No limit on the attendance at International Conferences without Institute financial assistance.
• The Institute encourages interaction of the faculty with industry, other research and professional institutions. Consultancy is encouraged and liberal consultancy policies are in practice.
• Professional visits can be undertaken during vacation period for carrying out scientific research work.
Additional Information
• Candidates employed in Government and Semi-Government Organizations, Public Undertakings, University and Educational Institutions must apply through their present employers. If they anticipate unavoidable delay in their applications being forwarded through proper channel, they may submit advance copies of their applications directly before the last date of receipt of application.
• Candidates are requested to send their application in the prescribed format only.
• The Institute reserves the right to fill or not fill any or all the posts advertised.
• The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic achievements.
• The invitation to candidate for interview merely indicates that it is felt that he/she with others may be suitable for the post and conveys no assurance whatsoever that he/she will be recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.
• The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only such candidates as are found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Selection Committee. Thus, just fulfilling the minimum prescribed conditions would not entitle one to be called for interview.
• No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding reason for not being called for interview / outcome of interview.
• The Institute may consider candidates whose area of specialization lie outside those stated herein, provided these persons have an outstanding record.
• Outstation candidates called for personal interview will be reimbursed the cost of fare restricted to maximum of travel by train in AC-2 tier by the shortest route. In case of candidates whose travel involves more than 500km reimbursement of economy airfare on travel by Air India by the shortest route is permissible.
• The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the application is incorrect / false the candidature / appointment is liable to be cancelled / terminated.
• Candidates can get in touch with the Director for additional information.
• The SC/ST candidates are required to attach the latest caste certificate in the format as prescribed by the Government of India.

• The candidates applying for more than one post/ specialisation must use separate Application form for each post/ specialisation and send them in separate cover superscribing with the name of the post applied for.
• Indian nationals residing abroad may send the application by scanned copy of the complete application with the signatures in relevant places through email (office@iiitdm.ac.in)
• All annexures and the application form must bear full name and signature of the candidate on the bottom of each page.
• New Pension Scheme (NPS) will be applicable to all permanent employees of the Institute who join the regular post after 01.01.2004, subject to the rules governing the scheme.
• Incomplete applications/ without relevant supporting enclosures / application not in the prescribed format will be out rightly rejected. Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay. Interim correspondence will not be entertained and replied to.
• Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
• The prescribed application form can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.iiitdm.ac.in.
